About

chita I have always loved the beauty of glass, whether it's a small handcrafted bead or the gorgeous stained glass windows in a church.  So in the early 90's when I got the chance to take a stained glass course, I jumped at it.  I took several more classes and then purchased my first kiln.  It was a small table top kiln with a little 4 by 4 inch shelf inside.  I couldn't make anything large, but it was a great tool for learning to make jewelry.  I enjoyed the process and have since bought a larger kiln to support my habit.  Most of my earrings and pendants are made with a specialty glass called dichroic glass.  It is hard to capture in a photograph, the depth and beauty of this glass.  Layers of this brilliant colored glass are fused together at 1450 degrees for about 12 hours. It is then shaped, and on some pieces, more glass is added.  It all goes back into the kiln to be firepolished for another 12 hours. The glass is then ready to be finished into a piece of jewelry. I like experimenting with color and design, so many of the items I sell are one of a kind.

I reside in the beautiful city of Eau Claire, Wi. with my husband, Jeff.  My business name Jechory, is a combination of my three, wonderful, sons names, Jeremy, Christopher and Cory. Please stop back often to this site, as I'll be adding new items as I make them.
